AGT Base Building Guidelines

• The Hello Games Servers are limited to downloading approximately 16,000 base parts from the servers.  

  • The servers will only render the most recently uploaded bases.

  • If the bases are large (3k parts) then only the most recent 5 bases will render.

  • If you are building in a system that contains a lot of existing bases, build as small as possible otherwise you will prevent older bases from rendering

  • If you are building in system that is expected to have many bases, then be considerate and build a small base of less than 600 parts to allow others to build.

• If you are building in a system that is densely populated, you should consider choosing another system. There is little you can do to work around the HG base rendering restrictions. You can check the base count by hovering your cursor over the system name in the Discovery Menu.

• Do not build a base that blocks access to a Portal.  In general stay at least 300u from the portal, ideally 500u

• Do not build your base, or any part of it, within 1000u of another players base.  In general, it is better to be at least 2000u from other bases to give them space to expand.

• Do not build a base near or adjacent to another players planetary settlement.  Keep at least 2000u away from other players settlements in case they decide to add a base to their settlement.

• Use good taste in base contruction and naming, avoiding offensive topics as listed in our participation guidelines.

• These are the only restrictions to note. If you find them too confusing, you are more than welcome to ask senior leadership team people on our server or Facebook group. We will be more than happy to help you!

• Once you have selected a location, build, and upload your base. You need a minimum of 8 pieces to upload and register your base to the Hello Games servers. 

• After uploading your base, you should submit it to the AGT database.  An AGT member will eventually make a wiki page for it based on your submission.  Please provide as much information as possible, and the pictures requested to ensure a higher quality wiki page for your base.
