NMS Community Leaderboard and Cosmos Concerns

AGT Stardate 3742.23.09 (23 Sep 2026)

The AGT is deeply concerned over reported server side API exploits and BOTs influencing and mass submitting information to Hello Games NMS alliance leaderboard resutlting in clearly invalid leaderboard results. Together with many community leaders and content creators, the AGT has co-sponsored a petition to Hello Games to take action on this immediately, and retire the leaderboard temporarily or permanently, or change its format drastically until a proper resolution is reached. Read the full text of the petition in the link below.

In addition, the AGT is concerned over repeated issues associated with the leaderboard model, lack of data transparency, lack of full leaderboard visibility and sorting, the portability of station claims and accumulated alliance points by players toggling alliances, and lack of directly naming station claimers.  There is no record or alignment of station claims and this encourages these challenges.

Furthermore the AGT notes its members are experiencing extreme duress in that station claims are severely affecting their save files with base part counts being ridiculously inflated, even when nothing, or very little is added to a claimed station. This must be addressed for usability of these features to be practical to players.
