Department of Historical Affairs

Summary

The AGT Department of Historical Affairs is responsible compiling and documenting the official history of the AGT, as well as guiding the selection of key sites and location that are of substantial historical to the AGT. The department operates under the supervision of the Bureau of Galactic Archives.

Department Responsibilities

The department has the following responsibilities:

• Compile information and records by constant monitoring of Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, and Discord groups to extract noteworthy events to record in the AGT history database.

• Contact current and former AGT members to gather missing pieces of information on historical records that are deemed incomplete.

• Compile all records into the AGT History Database.

• Promote the Concept of the AGT Galactic Heritage Sites to the wider AGT membership to ensure awareness.

• Encourage members to submit nominations for Galactic Heritage Sites. Review submissions and recommend them to the leader of the Bureau of Galactic Archives.

• Publish Galactic Heritage Site page content for wiki and AGT website.

• Promote the submission of historical record events using the History Forms systes to the wider AGT membership to ensure awareness. Encourage contributions to lore that is consistent with AGT history.

• Screen, review and edit submitted historical record events and lore.  Include in the historical record with proper assigned credit to originator as appropriate.

• Represent the AGT to the peer groups in the community for shared Civilized space history

• Promote the AGT Department activities on the AGT official communication channels when possible (NMS Coordinate Exchange, Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, Discord)

• Notify AGT Galactic Archives of systems noted from historical records collection to ensure the system data is collected and stored in the System/planet/base galactic archive database as appropriate.

The department is overseen and supported by the AGT Bureau of Galactic Archives.
