This document represents a wholistic view of the structure, organization and decision processes for the Alliance of Galactic Travellers.
An inclusive collaborative civilization to foster intergalactic travel
The Alliance of Galactic Travellers (AGT) is a civilization of independent Travellers, Companies and Foundations of players that drive exploration across the No Man's Sky universe.
The AGT is made up of five categories of participants:
Visitors: Visitors are guests of the AGT but do not participate actively in multi-player activities. A visitor is a player who does not follow AGT Naming Convention Guidelines. They are not eligible to be registered on the Census of AGT Members, or apply for AGT positions on our Job Portal. Visitors (verified status or not) will also be subjected to more restrictive moderation if they stray from the groups primary discussion topics. Visitors must not appear on our channels to be promoting other civilizations or groups without explicit consent from an SLT member.
Travellers: Individual travellers must follow AGT Naming Convention Guidelines and are required to register on the Census of AGT Members. They may or may not participate in multi-player activities. In general, most if not all AGT Travellers build some bases in AGT star systems.
Bureaucrats: Bureaucrats take the leadership of a Bureau or a Department. Bureau leaders have the authority to assign and retain managers in their bureau. Department managers manage their function but cannot assign other travellers to their department. Both position require job applications from existing Travellers.
AGT Senior Leadership Team: Travellers who have been chosen to be part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). In general, this happens once existing SLT members have noticed a sustained effort on behalf of a Traveller in promote AGT initiatives, make significant contributions to the AGT Galactic Archives and are known to actively promote the AGT in public view.
Travellers Foundations: Foundation leadership is by SLT invitation only to select committed travellers who understand the responsibility they will undertake. Leadership is only offered to the most committed travellers. The two founding heads of the IGTF sit as members of the AGT SLT and thus constitute two votes.
Companies: Independent travellers or groups of travellers may operate a company within the AGT under the AGT Infrastructure Subsidiary Partnership. A company is treated as the equivalent of a single member in the AGT. Companies (and their founders) do not get automatically seats on the SLT, unless an invitation is explicitly is made to the company founder to join the SLT.
All members of the AGT (excluding guests, but they are asked to also observe) should adhere to the following rules:
Name all systems are per the AGT Naming Convention Guidelines.
Follow the AGT - Participation Guidelines as refined and revised by the AGT Senior Leadership.
Act in a mature, positive, and cooperative manner with your fellow AGT Travellers on all interactions.
Act in a mature, positive, and cooperative manner with our key allies. The allies will be clearly identified by the SLT.
The AGT Steering Committee is formed from the three longest standing active members of the AGT Senior Leadership Team. This committee has:
The final say on implementation of all rules and policies of the AGT.
The unilateral right to revise the AGT Unincorporated Association Constitution.
The steering committee shall take the advice from the broader SLT on all matters, and adjudicate in event the SLT cannot reach a majority consensus on any issue.
Collectively with the Ambassador, the full control of AGT foreign relations with all over civilizations and alliances.
An open ended Term of Service.
Dismissal: A steering committee member can be replaced if the member fails to stay active for the preceding year. Active means entirely or mostly participating in SLT decisions and discussions, not necessarily active in the game itself, although in game activity may be considered before replacing a steering committee member. The two co-founders and the remaining steering committee members can decide to exercise the replacement at their choice. The replacement should be the most active member with at least two years of SLT service.
The Senior Leadership Team (SLT) reports to, and advises, the AGT Steering Committee. The members of the Steering Committee are considered members of the SLT for counting purposes.
There shall be no more than 20 SLT members at one time.
SLT members must have participated actively in the AGT in the past year and be in good standing in the community.
The SLT has the power to invite new AGT Travellers to join the AGT Senior Leadership Team subject to the limit of 20 members.
Term of Service: There is no limit on term of service.
Dismissal: An SLT member can only be dismissed with the agreement of at least two steering committee members and a voting majority of the SLT. In the event of a tie, the side with the most Steering Committee votes shall prevail.
An SLT member that is entirely or mostly inactive in the SLT discussions and decisions for a period of the preceding year will be moved to the Emeritus SLT group which can advise but does not have a vote on decisions. Emeritus members do not count against the 20 member limit.
Emeritus SLT members can be reactivated into the SLT by the Steering Committee once the individual reactivates their engagement activity in the AGT for a sustained minimum period of two months.
The AGT is a guided community group, due to the fragmented levels of involvement of most travellers in their nomadic life. As a result, decisions are made by the SLT and Steering Committee for the greater good, and are not subject to wider votes in general membership.
All Travellers are encouraged to get involved to contribute ideas and make submissions to the SLT for improving the community and making policy decisions.
The AGT will operate a Feedback form to allow Travellers ability to provide feedback with their own level of preferred identification.
Participation in AGT primary social channel group is via Discord and Facebook. The AGT is not obligated to allow any public member access unless they have passed membership verification requirements for participation.
The AGT SLT may refine and revise these requirement from time to time as security conditions permit. New applicants are requested to cooperate with the verification process in place at that time and their understanding is appreciated.
The AGT shall allow up to 254 Travellers Foundations, one uniquely per galaxy, excluding Euclid and Hilbert Dimension.
The individual galaxy specific Travellers Foundations do not count as individual members and do not get individual votes on the SLT.
The granting of a Travellers Foundation is done exclusively by the two heads of the Intergalactic Travellers Foundation, in consultation with the SLT for any security and identification risks. Leadership is only offered to the most committed travellers. The two founding heads of the IGTF have total and complete control to withdraw ownership rights from anyone over any galaxy specific Travellers Foundation. For avoidance of doubt, the Traveller Foundation heads can remove ownership of a Foundation head at any time without the approval of the AGT SLT, as they exercise complete discretion over ownership of specific foundations.
The Travellers Foundations systems must follow AGT Naming Convention, with an AGT prefix. In addition, they will follow the specific foundation suffix naming rules for most systems, with a select set of special rules for certain systems as dictated by the IGTF.
The Travellers Foundations shall focus on a limited set of regions in their respective galaxy. Extended Spread across the galaxy for a foundation is discouraged and may be grounds from removal of ownership rights, although due discretion will be exercised recognizing the leaders limited ability to control players naming behaviour.
For the avoidance of doubt, only one Travellers Foundation will be recognized per galaxy. AGT Travellers are free to participate and assist that traveller foundation (and follow its naming rules in its designated regions) or act as solo nomadic travellers in non-foundation regions of that same galaxy and name systems in standard AGT naming conventions.
Companies are eligible to join the AGT in the same role as Travellers, under the AGT Infrastructure Subsidiary Partnership. Companies may be sole ownership or made of many employees (players). All employees in a company must comply with the AGT Unincorporated Association Constitution and the AGT Participation Guidelines for the company to stay in good standing with the AGT.
Companies that have employees that fail to comply with AGT guidelines and which continue to host those employees will be subject to dismissal as determined by an SLT decision.
Companies can operate independently in any region of any galaxy. Companies are free to apply suffixes to their system names, as long as the AGT prefix is used. Companies may cooperate with Travellers Foundations if they agree to that Foundations rules compliance.
Companies are expected to behave professionally, not engaging in negative community actions or they will face immediate dismissal.
